Meaning

Perfect lover; Fame; Love; Passion

Origins

Tulips have a long interesting history. Grown for years in Turkish gardens and used as a motif on Turkish ceramics, tulips were introduced to Europe in the mid-16th century. Tulipa, the tulip's genus name, is the Latinized version of tulipam or tulbend, which means "turban" in Turkish and was generally used to describe the tulips' shapes.

Availability and Vase Life

Year round. 3-7 days.

Design Uses

Tulips will grow up to 2 inches after being cut and will curve toward the light. Keep this in mind when arranging. Never slit tulip stem near the flower in an effort to avoid drooping, as this will only reduce nutrient uptake and thus shorten vase life.
